Sharat Purnima

TONIGHT IS SHARAT PURNIMA –

The full moon night is in all its glory.  The Divine Couple Shyama Shyam are showering the nectarean bliss of Divine love in Their abode of love, Vrindavan. The Supreme Personification of Divine Love, Shri Radha and the Crest Jewel of Rasikas, Shyamasundara both look like the embodiment of ADORNMENT and BEAUTY. They are engaged in Their most confidential blissful pastimes, showering Prema Rasa liberally and incessantly.

The incomparable group of sakhis, highly accomplished in the art of music are singing the choicest of classical ragas, accompanied by musical instruments such as mridanga, chang, dhol and dhap. At times the rhythm is slow, sometimes medium-paced and sometimes in a fast mode according to the accompanying music. Some of the most intimate sakhis such as Lalita, etc. who are the pinnacle of perfection in music are singing in sweet voices with all the appropriate notes and augmentations.

Everyone is deeply absorbed in Maharasa, the divine dance of Shri Radha Krishna and the gopis. Those fortunate Rasika Saints witnessing this divine play are unable to contain the abundant outpouring of divine bliss, as a result of which, they are drowned in the ecstasy of divine love. Those Rasikas drenched through and through in this nectar, are desperate to bestow this bliss upon the countless suffering souls of the material world due to their causelessly merciful nature.

 कृपा करु बरसाने वारी, तेरी कृपा का भरोसा भारी ।

 कोउ हो या ना हो अधिकारी, सब पर कृपा करें प्यारी I

(Braja Rasa Madhuri Part 3, 9)

“Please bless me with Your grace, O Radha Rani! I am fully dependent on Your Grace. You freely bestow grace upon everyone, without ever judging whether one is eligible or not.”

All-merciful Radha Rani always rescues surrendered souls from drowning in the cosmic ocean of material maya, personally escorting them to Her divine abode, Goloka. She is so simple and gracious that on hearing the plaintive calls of Rasika Saints, She is unable to bear their cries and rushes to their aid leaving all and everything aside.

Most devotees have this firm conviction that in order to shower this Divine bliss and help suffering souls in this dark age of Kali, Radha Rani Herself, the Personification of Divine Grace, appeared on this earth in the form of Jagadguruttam, as well as the great Maharasika in the lap of Mother Bhagavati, in Bhakti Dham, Mangarh.

On this most sacred of nights, Sharat Purnima in the year 1922, a gentle, cool and fragrant breeze pervaded the atmosphere, striking a cord of joy and happiness in everyone’s heart, that indicated the personified form Prema bhakti was about to appear. Mother Bhagavati was eagerly waiting for that auspicious moment when this Maharasika would appear in her lap, and finally that moment arrived.  The divine child that appeared before her eyes became famous throughout the world as Bhakti-Yoga-Rasavatara, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj.

Our countless obeisance to such a Supreme Divine Master.  All glories to our beloved Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
